Hi. I'm Rachel.
I'm a sport and remedial massage therapist. I offer tailored soft tissue massage working the layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia to restore functional movement and encourage postural change.
I have a Level 5 BTEC in soft tissue massage from the London School of Sports Massage. I'm also a member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage.
I have always been fascinated by the human body's abilities. This curiosity has grown as I learned about the powerful effects of massage in aiding recovery, reducing muscle tension and enhancing performance - whether it be sporting - or just getting out of bed in the morning.
What excites me the most is seeing the immediate and long-term benefits that proper massage therapy can offer—whether it's easing sore muscles, accelerating healing after an injury, or simply providing mental relaxation.
I continually strive to deepen my understanding of the body and refine my techniques, staying updated with the latest methods in sport and remedial massage. My goal is always to tailor each session to meet the unique needs of the individual, helping them not only recover but also thrive.
For me, sports massage is more than just a profession; it's a way to make a positive impact in the lives of others, one session at a time.
I hope to meet you soon!

She worked wonders resolving my pain. I would recommend her wholeheartedly
After only one session there was a marked change in my pain. I returned for a second session and will continue to do so.
Rachel is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. What's not to like!
After just one session, I felt a noticeable reduction in pain and improved mobility.
So what's the difference between Sport and Remedial massage?
Both work with soft tissue and offer a comprehensive and versatile treatment for musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction.
Manipulating the soft tissues - ie. anything between your skin and your bone - can help to:
-
Improve range of motion and flexibility
-
Reduce pain
-
Improve posture
-
Improve circulation
-
Reduce imuscle tention
-
Increase relaxation
-
Reduce inflammation and swelling
Sports massage is designed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. It is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. Sports massage emphasises prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons, working to reduce restrictions of joint and soft tissue range of motion. You will notice that sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, helps prevent injuries and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance.
Remedial massage is a deep soft tissue treatment used to address a specific problem. A range of hands-on techniques will be used with the aim to facilitate a change to the soft tissue layers, from superficial to deep with the primary goal to reduce pain.
The focus is on working the layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia to restore functional movement and encourage postural change. Soft tissue work will help to restore correct muscle tone, symmetry and balance with the goal of realigning the soft tissue influence on joint position.
Massage treatments differ according the presenting symptoms and clients needs. Treatments combine clinical assessment with general massage and advanced soft tissue techniques such as:
• Muscle Energy Technique
• Soft Tissue Release
• Fascial Release Technique
• Neuro-Muscular Technique
• Positional Release Technique
